At least three prominent German pro-migrant
mayors have received death threats, it emerged Thursday, days after police arrested a suspected far-right extremist over the assassination-style gun
murder of a local politician.
German authorities are investigating over 100 threatening emails apparently sent by far-right
sympathizers to lawyers, politicians, journalists and even a pop star, prosecutors said.
Police were searching at least a dozen schools across Germany after they received threats by email Monday, although officials said they didn't believe the messages constituted a serious danger.
