Frankfurt Airport operator Fraport
said Tuesday that it plans to shed nearly one-fifth of its workforce, after air traffic plummeted in the second quarter due to the coronavirus pandemic.
German engineering giant Siemens said on Thursday that it would slash an additional 4,500 jobs worldwide, on top of 7,400 cuts previously announced as part of an ongoing restructuring plan.
The downsizing of one of Germany's leading energy companies could be much more devastating than previously expected. E.ON may be considering cutting up to 10,000 jobs worldwide.
