Faced this recently in Ciampino. I have a residence and work visa for Germany. The people controlling flow at immigration tried to make me queue up for the fingerprints, etc . I lightly argued and went to the immigration agent, he agreed that with an eu resident permit, no need. It’s very airport and team dependent as the rules are new. Likely some chaos for the foreseeable future.
Waiting…
Re-entered Sweden as a work permit holder in January and faced a long queue because of this. When i got to the front, I didn’t actually need to do the photo/fingerprints due to my work permit, so why did i have to be held up in that line with everyone who did??

Milan Mapensa T1 implemented from Nov 25 & although the system now recognises me, no need now for fingerprints & free questions, border control are still then stamping passports. When will passport stamping cease for EES passengers?
