Local public transport across Germany ground to a halt at the start of the month after trade union Verdi called nationwide warning strikes as part of an ongoing pay dispute in the public sector.
Now, strike action is hitting transport in the country again. Residents in Munich and Nuremberg in Bavaria and Hamburg should expect disruption to buses, trams and underground train services all day on Wednesday, February 11th.Â
In Hamburg, buses operated by VHH will be affected. In Munich, services run by MVG will be hit, while in Nuremberg disruption is expected across the city's VAG services.Â
A statement from Munich's MVG said some buses were expected to run but that much of the network would come to a standstill.Â
Passengers in Passau will also face restrictions on Wednesday, while public transport in Dachau is also affected. In Bayreuth, bus services were impacted by a strike on Tuesday.
This round of warning strikes is limited to local public transport. Deutsche Bahn services, including S-Bahn, regional and long-distance trains, are set to run as usual.

Football fans in Munich affected
Anyone attending the cup match between FC Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig on Wednesday in the Bavarian capital will face disruption.Â
However, it has emerged that the U-Bahn will run between Marienplatz and Fröttmaning the match at the Allianz Arena.
Around 750,000 fans are set to attend the game.Â
Are more strikes planned?
The latest action comes during a series of strikes hitting public services in Germany as wage negotiations continue.
The union Verdi has been organising targeted 'warning strikes' in transport and other sectors to increase pressure ahead of bargaining rounds.
Local transport strikes are expected to hit the state of Hesse either later this week or next week. Meanwhile, other public sector walkouts are also taking place across the country, affecting services including hospitals and schools.
The union is pushing for shorter working hours, longer rest periods and higher bonuses for night and weekend shifts for transport workers. Employers have so far rejected the demands.
