It’s been five years since the end of the post-Brexit transition period and for many British citizens living in the EU this means 2026 will be the time to upgrade to a permanent residence card. But what happens if you forget or leave it late to apply?

Does the permanent residence card you get when you "upgrade" after the five years need to be renewed? or will it have no end date on it? Could you point out what it would look like for Germany? Also how to apply? Many thanks. This is a very important article

You've covered Denmark, Austria, France and Spain. Could you provide detail for here in Sweden since this is the Swedish site, if the 'post Brexit' residence is different to standard PUT application.
