Turkey has released another German citizen from jail, Berlin said Friday amid a gradual thaw in bilateral ties, stressing however that seven more were still being held for "political reasons".
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu on Saturday dismissed Berlin's angry reaction to the arrest of German citizens in Turkey, local media reported, a row which is worsening the nations' already fraying ties.
Two more German citizens have been arrested in Turkey "for political reasons", Berlin said on Friday, bringing the total number
of German political prisoners in Turkish custody to 12 amid badly frayed ties between the countries.
