German police have warned that Germany's Euro 2016 match against old foes Poland could be the next flash point for hooligan violence when they meet in Paris on Thursday.
Police stepped in to protect players at a Dresden club on Sunday - after their fans told them to leave town because a defeat spelled relegation from the country's second soccer division.
Some 14 police officers were hurt and four football fans were arrested, with dozens more injured, during trouble before Hanover 96's goalless draw with Eintracht Braunschweig on Friday night.
With Germany's opening Euro 2012 qualifier against Belgium taking place on Friday night, German police have been searching trains bound for Brussels in a bid to prevent known hooligans from travelling.
