With large numbers of refugees building up in Greece after Austria and western Balkan nations closed their borders, Vienna has put the ball in Germany's court.
Germany and Austria on Tuesday called for a special European summit on the migrant crisis, in a phone call with EU president Donald Tusk, said Chancellor Angela Merkel.
