Reversing and parallel parking and parking halfway on the pavement. Being British I’m used to and am pretty good at both reversing and parallel parking. Germans are not. They expect to be able to drive headlong in to their driveways and car parks. Take a look next visit to the REWE or IKEA. Watching a German trying to parallel park of reverse in a straight line is also quite amusing. And, if you ever get the opportunity, get them to drive down a long narrow lane in Devon or Cornwall and when they ask “who’s got the right?” or “what do I do when I meet another car?” Watch their face and them break out in to cold sweat when you answer “you will have to reverse 3 kilometres back to the last passing space”

Smiles on the faces of the strangers you may meet.....is another thing you won´t see in Germany. People patiently giving you space to park your car in a tight spot...is another
