A new ranking of German cities has revealed a few surprises about where in the country the locals have the best level of English. But does this match your experience? Share you views below.

Yes, you can manage to live in Germany without knowing much german. I've managed the whole nine yards of this since I moved to Cologne in 2008, from England. Before moving here, I knew "zwei große Bier bitte" (for the staff behind the bar) and "Köln-Bonn Flughafen bitte" (for the taxi driver). After moving here, I picked up more and eventually managed TELC B1 (after brexit to get my german citizenship) though no one who tried to converse with me in deutsch would realise that!
