Munich in my opinion is grossly overpriced for what it is. It plays at being a world city but is nothing of the sort, not even a second-tier city like Barcelona or Hamburg. It´s clean and safe, yes: but also aloof, highly conservative, money/status-driven and boring. What was probably more culturally interesting about the city ocurred in the late 60´s or 70´s. Now there is nothing culturally or Artistically interesting about a bland rich middle class city. Vienna is a far more interesting, twice the size and doesn´t have skyrocketing rents. It also has a far more interesting mix of people, creativit, places of interest and a better city attitude.
