For 17.3 million people in Germany, there is no need to discuss who is doing the dishes or buying more toilet paper this weekend: they run their household alone.

I’m sorry but this is a poorly written article that doesn’t properly interpret these basic statistics. In places it mixes absolute numbers with percentages, contradicts itself, and gets confused about statistics referring to households and individuals. I’d suggest a strong re-edit

I was expecting more about this living alone thing from a cultural and social set point of view. I think for most internationals who reside in Germany it's a matter of language first, which hinders them getting into the system and secondly the nature of the Germans whom often are not very good at interacting with new people from the first meeting points unlike in other societies in the world. Truly this does not only affects only the internationals who live in Germany but also the Germans as it results to physiological problems to both class of person. I wish you do a proper investigation into this again with a broader group or class of persons.
