As an American, I notice a huge difference in attitudes between the former West Berliners and East Berliners. The old Easties like to pretend they were all somehow not fans of the regime, even though they had access to privileges few did. The Westies look down their noses at the Eastern parts of Berlin. It's all very interesting to me as an outsider but I do wonder how those former ardent communists feel taking advantage of all the system has to offer today. Far more than they had.
