The 31-year-old man and older woman had both gotten off an U-Bahn on Tuesday at Alexanderplatz, site of Berlin's landmark TV Tower, according to police.
The two had apparently been fighting while on the U-Bahn before they got off.
Once at the Alexanderplatz platform, the woman was waiting for a connecting train when the man suddenly pushed her onto the tracks.
Luckily, though, passersby and security officers were able to quickly help her off the tracks and arrest the man.
It is not known how the two knew each other or why they were fighting.
Earlier this year, the capital city was shocked when a man pushed a woman he did not know in front of an oncoming train, killing her.Â
