After weeks of snow and freezing weather, the weekend could see temperatures of between 16C and 22C across most of the country and for those lucky enough to be in the southwest, temperatures could climb as high as 26C.
But until then, Germany will have to be patient, as Monday night will be rainy across the western states and cloudy almost everywhere. Northern and eastern areas should be dry with temperatures remaining chilly at between 4C and 0C.
Tuesday should be drier yet cloudy except for parts of north and eastern states where temperatures will stay between 3C and 8C. The south and west will likely be warmer, reaching highs of between 7C and 12C.
As night falls on Tuesday, clouds will thicken – especially in the southwest and centre of the country where it will be rather rainy. In clearer parts of the country, namely the north and east, the coldest it will be is 0C. The rest of Germany will see lows of between 7C and 4C.

Wednesday is set to be changeable with sunshine near the Alps and hilly central parts. Heavy cloud coverage is expected everywhere else though, with rain in the west and southwest. Highs between 4C and 9C in the north and 9C to 14C in the south are expected.
The rain should start to ease by Wednesday night, as clouds part towards the early hours. The west and southwest may not so lucky though, as rain is forecast. April-appropriate lows of between 1C and 8C are expected.
But the rain respite won't last long as the country will wake up to a grey day on Thursday. Like previous days, the west and southwest will get the worst of the rain while eastern and central states will be cloudy. Temperatures should keep rising with highs between 6C and 11C in the north and 11C and 17C in the south.
