On Friday, the German Weather Service (DWD) warned of thunderstorms and rain throughout the East, and said isolated thunderstorms were also possible in the West and North.
Looking ahead to the weekend, anyone hoping to get outdoors is well-advised to get up early - Saturday is expected to begin partly sunny in most of the country, but showers and thunderstorms should develop over the course of the day, mainly in the southwest. The temperature is expected to reach between 23 and 29 degrees Celsius, but keep a jacket handy, as it's likely to sink to a low of 13 degrees in the evening.

On Sunday, the DWD expects the skies to remain unsettled in many places with widespread showers and thunderstorms. The chances of dry weather are best in the area between the Saar and the Spree. On Sunday evening, the north and the south of the country can expect showers, with temperatures falling between 17 and 12 degrees Celsius.
Heading into the work week, most of the country will want to pack an umbrella on Monday, as heavy cloud cover is expected to lead to isolated rain fall and squalls in the south and east. The German Weather Service says temperatures could rise to 20 degrees to 26 degrees northwest and the southeast, before falling to between 16 and 11 degrees in the evening.
On Tuesday temperature are expected to drop across Germany.
